Adie Muller
Professional Violist
Instructor of Viola and Violin
Adie Muller (pronounced "Ey-dee Mew-ler") is a professional violist and music teacher currently working in Gricignano di Aversa, Italy (NSA Naples Support Site).
As the director of her private music studio, Mrs. Muller teaches individual music lessons to around 15 students per week, rents out instruments to students, directs her adult orchestra, organizes two recitals per year, and is the author of her three-volume AdieTrinity Method Book Series for violin and viola. Adie also performs viola regularly as a member of the choir of the chapel on Support Site.
In Virginia (2022-2024), Mrs. Muller served as a music instructor for the D.C. Youth Orchestra Program, the Youth Orchestras of Prince William, Prince William Music Academy, as a guest clinician for Colgan Performing Arts High School, and worked with dozens of individual students in her music studio over her 3 years in that area. She also served as a performer in the Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra, Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
Her career flourished originally in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona, where she served as an instructor at Tucson Jr. Strings, Allegro School of Music & Dance, Tucson Youth Music Center (formerly Tucson Symphony Women’s Association), as a volunteer at Tucson Summer Music, in addition to the studio teacher of her many violin and viola students.
She has performed with ensembles including the Arizona Symphony Orchestra, and as a viola soloist and chamber musician all over the United States and in several countries spanning North America and Europe; including participation in numerous music festivals, workshops, and masterclasses.
Mrs. Muller's primary teachers include Hong-Mei Xiao and Dennis Bourret; she has additionally worked with other prominent viola soloists and faculty at institutions including Juilliard, Curtis, Eastman, Oberlin, UNT, Manhattan School of Music, among others.
As an advocate of contemporary classical music, Adie has provided the premier performance of a number of original works for viola and ensemble, and has had works of her own composition performed by professional ensembles including the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. A number of her original compositions can be found in her original three-volume music curriculum books, “AdieTrinity,” and among her composition portfolio.
